Tomatero Farm is in Watsonville, Ca. Our farm has been C.C.O.F. certified organic from the start in 2004.

The ranch is managed and owned by Chris and Adriana, Our Farm Tomatero –meaning  ’tomato picker’ in Spanish– was named  by Adriana’s 80 year old Nicaraguan Grandmother, after 2 years of “Waiting to be inspired.” she gave Chris that nickname and it just seemed to fit, after all; tomatoes are our original speciality!

Our crew is a made up of a few families and friends that have been with us since the beginning and have in large part made the farm what it has become. We are a very close-knit community and it really helps achieve our ultimate goal of having quality products.

The produce we grow is so flavorful and special because of the combination of variety and climate. We grow a large variety of tomatoes, as well as berries and greens. We also have several different breeds of chickens we raise for eggs on several acres of pasture. Please visit us at the markets to enjoy it.

Information about our chickens:

We raise our chickens on 2.5 acres of pasture land. There are several different breeds being raised, all for flavor and eggshell color variety.  The feed is an all-natural custom blend made exclusively for our farm.

Our eggs are not certified organic, we prefer to source our feed locally from a company we know and trust as opposed to exclusively organic by an unknown possibly international source. The birds are moved frequently on mobile coops and are never overcrowded. We absolutely do not debeak, stress feed, or exercise any other torturous tactics on our birds. The hens tend to lay more in a low stress and nutritious environment and this provided for our birds because it is the correct, humane way to raise poultry. In return they provide us with firm, bright, delicious eggs!  Our eggs are so fresh they could have been produced less than 24 hours from when you purchase them!
